Lighting up Cockenzie Powerstation chinmeys, tradtional fishing boats and children's paperboats
Although not a mural, it is a form of public art. It was part of the Three Harbours Arts Festival which I was chairman at the time.
Designed by the Management team of The Three Harbours Arts Festival on 2007 and 2008. These iconic Chimneys when lit up at night could be seen for miles. Designed by the management committee of The Three Harbours which included Eddie Anderson, Tom Ewing, Adele Conn, Yvonne Murphy, Gillian Hart and Blacklight.
In June 2008 Tasmin Little performed to the two chimneys of Cockenzie Powerstation. She also completed a concert within the chimney for The ITV Southbank Show. The Lighting of the chimneys was part of a wider light show that involved the three harbours of Morrisons Haven, Cockenzie Harbour and Port Seton Harbour. A large scale paperboats sculpture made by children from all primary schools in the area was lit up at Morrisons Haven and tradtional fishing boats were lit up at Port Seton Harbour.
