Mount Felix Tapestry

 

"This beautiful community tapestry tells the story the ANZAC hospital at Mount Felix in Walton on Thames. 27 thousand New Zealand wounded soldiers were welcomed into the heart of Walton on Thames and treated at this hospital during WWI and Andrew Crummy’s design depicts some of the most powerful true life stories surrounding the hospital in 44 panels. ​Andrew Crummy is an artist who draws and paints. Since 1986 he has completed many artworks, illustrations, paintings and murals.

He is known as the designer of community art tapestries including The Great tapestry of Scotland.

In 2023 he was awarded an MBE, an honorary doctorate from Dundee University and a Fletcher of Saltoun Award from The Saltire Society.
